At Wirra Wirra, making great wine has been our purpose since 1894. Being in our element is doing what we love, in a place that inspires us, with people who share in the joy of the craft. We strive to capture the essence of McLaren Vale in our generous and elegant red wines and the vibrancy of the cool-climate Adelaide Hills in our whites.

WINES OF DISTINCTION

Our talented and experienced winemaking team, led by Emma Wood, use grapes from our certified organic and biodynamic estate vineyards and select growers. We vinify in small batches to follow each vineyard intimately through each vintage and create wines of balance and distinction.

We specialise in the classic varieties of our regions, Grenache, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills.

A PIECE OF McLAREN VALE HISTORY

Wirra Wirra has had two lives, built and then re-built by two fearless dreamers. First established in 1894 by Robert Wigley in the burgeoning region of McLaren Vale, it was left ruin upon his death before the enigmatic Greg Trott re-built the ironstone cellars back to their former glory in the 1960’s. Wirra Wirra has always been at the heart of McLaren Vale’s identity as a world class wine region.
