Gold for Church Block Shiraz

Gold for Church Block Shiraz

The 2024 Church Block Shiraz marks the second single-variety release under the Church Block label, shining a spotlight on the variety that has been at the heart of every release since the beginning.

Last night, the 2024 Church Block Shiraz added another major accolade to its list of achievements, receiving a Gold Medal and 95 Points at the 2026 National Wine Show of Australia.

This follows its 95 Points at the 2025 McLaren Vale Wine Show, making it a two time gold medal winner and one of the standout value Shiraz releases from our cellar.

For more than five decades, Church Block has been synonymous with great McLaren Vale red wine. Since the first release from the 1972 vintage, Church Block blends have earned a reputation for quality, character and exceptional value.

"This is a pretty intense and serious wine for the money. Red and blue fruits, some black olive and ground anise, cracked pepper and a whisper of bay, the palate silky, slinky, so textural and supple, tannins refined, and the length sustained. Without doubt, the current Church Block trio represents some of the best quality-to-price-ratio wines in the country."
