2025 Vintage Underway at Wirra Wirra

Vintage at Wirra Wirra - A cellar hand digs out a ferment in the historic cellars.

The 2025 vintage is in full swing at Wirra Wirra, marking an earlier harvest compared to recent years. A warm and dry growing season with consistently above-average temperatures has set the stage for a beautifully balanced vintage. The vines have shown remarkable resilience, maintaining healthy canopies and steady ripening without sugars accelerating too quickly - resulting in fruit arriving in excellent condition.

In McLaren Vale, reds are displaying deep colour, fine tannins, and concentrated fruit expression, while in the Adelaide Hills, warm, dry days have been balanced by cool nights, preserving natural acidity and fresh citrus notes in the Chardonnay.

Chief Winemaker Emma Wood reflects on the season: “The fruit has arrived in fantastic shape, with great vibrancy and purity. The balance in the vineyards has translated into beautifully structured wines, and we’re excited to see how the vintage unfolds.”

With ferments well underway and early signs pointing to depth, freshness, and finesse, 2025 is shaping up as a standout year.
