In 2025 two old bush vine vineyards made it through rigorous classification tastings. A bush vine site in Whites Valley, planted in 1960 on red-brown loam and a small parcel from the Blagrove vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale on alluvial clay-loam soils. Both parcels were vinified separately in open fermenters with some whole bunch and extended time on skins. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis wine is named after Wirra Wirra’s founder Robert Wigley who was involved in the ‘acquisition’ of the famous Adelaide pie-cart. This was the catalyst for him to abscond to McLaren Vale in the late 1800’s.
